We are fortunate to have an agent in our Land Park office who also volunteers his time for D.A.R.T. (Drowning Accident Rescue Team). These amazing people give of their time, energy and expense to dive into the murky waters of the Sacramento River or the cold, unpredictable waters of the American River to try to save those who are in danger of drowning, or who have already drowned but have not been found.
You would think that this type of service would be funded by the police or sherrif, the city or the county, since that is who calls them when the need arises. Unfortunately, this is not the case. This is an organization that is completely dependent on donations. As you can imagine, times are difficult. They must pay for the dock they work out of, the boat they use and the equipment they must keep in top condition for the utmost safety.
They need you right now. They are hosting a wonderful evening at the Aerospace Museum of California with a great barbecue from JR's Texas BBQ, a silent auction and dancing.
