There are times in this business (more often than not, lately) that we need our engines revved. We go through, day to day, doing whatever we have to in order to keep our careers on track. It's challenging at times.
Today was one of those days...
First, we attended an owners meeting for Windermere. We shared. We laughed. We commiserated. The point is, we had a chance to share our frustrations, our successes, our ideas and our failures with our peers. Sometimes it is just nice to know someone is going through the same "stuff" you are...good, bad and indifferent. We need that wall to bounce things off of, because more than ever, we are not an island. We find out that we are in good company, and I mean that quite literally.
Then, I was fortunate enough to attend a Young Professionals Mixer. This is a group of our finest and brightest upcoming real estate professionals. They are title reps, home warranty reps, appraisers and Realtors. While the members are under the age of 40, they include even us old people in their mixers. This is where I get rejuvenated. They are full of energy and promise. These are young people who are working in one of the hardest markets we have seen, and doing it with panache and professionalism. They reaffirm that this is a great career that will continue to give the public the kind of help that they need in a professional manner.
And I came home very hopeful.
